Giles Bequest Committee Receiving Applications Now
The Giles Bequest Committee (GBC) is thrilled to announce that Holy Trinity is now receiving applications for the use of Giles Bequest funds for outreach initiatives.
What is the Giles Bequest?
In 2021, Holy Trinity Parish received a generous financial gift from the estate of a beloved member of our Parish, Ms. Pat Giles. Ms. Giles’ will directs that her bequest be used “for the outreach of the church, as determined by the vestry.”
What is outreach?
The vestry has defined outreach as tending to the material needs of our neighbors, proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ to our communities, and helping newcomers integrate as active members of the Body of Christ.
What is the Giles Bequest Committee?
The Giles Bequest Committee was created to seek outreach initiatives from people inside and outside the Parish, to help them clarify their ideas, and to advise the vestry on supporting them. Members of the Giles Bequest Committee are Nancy Qarmout (Chair), Berkeley Boone, Beth Howell, Barbara Miller-Murphy, Cynthia Jackson, and Laura Manzer.
How do I go about requesting Giles Bequest funds for my outreach ideas and initiatives?
The Giles Bequest Committee has created an online application to be used by parishioners and external organizations. After review of the application, the Giles Bequest Committee will contact you.
How long will the application process take?
The application review process may take 60-90 days.
How do I contact GBC?
Please email [email protected] for more information or feel free to catch one of the GBC members at church on Sunday.
With thanks,
