Weddings at HTP

Those whom God has joined

together let no one put asunder.

"Eternal God, creator and preserver of all life, author of salvation, and giver of all grace: Look with favor upon the world you have made, and for which your Son gave his life, and especially upon these whom you make one flesh in Holy Matrimony. Amen."

The Book of Common Prayer, p. 428

Christian marriage is a solemn and public covenant between two people in the presence of God. In the Episcopal Church it is required that one or both of the persons be a baptized Christian, that the ceremony be attested by at least two witnesses, and that the marriage conform to the laws of the State and the canons of this Church.

At Holy Trinity Parish we affirm and celebrate marriage between two people of all genders as a sacrament of the Church and as a sign of the mystery of the union between Christ and his Church. Typically we do not rent out our sacred space for weddings to couples who have no relationship with the parish community but we also try to hold that principle lightly and we welcome conversations about whether you would like to develop a relationship with our parish.

Considering Marriage at Holy Trinity?

All weddings at Holy Trinity Parish closely follow the rites of the Episcopal Church (which are beautiful and delightful!) and pre-marital counseling is required by the canons of the Church.

For more information please contact our Parish Administrators or one of our priests. And congratulations!
