Church of the Common Ground

The Church of the Common Ground is an Episcopal Diocese of Atlanta church community on the streets of Atlanta living the Good News that we are all God’s Beloved.
Common Ground parishioners live primarily in shelters and on the streets, gathering regularly for bible study, morning prayer, foot clinic and mass.
Many churches in the Diocese celebrate the Eucharist with Common Ground congregants in Woodruff Park on Sundays at 1:00 on a rotating basis. Since 2013 Holy Trinity has joined these parishes, visiting four or five times a year.
The service is by the International Peace Fountain in Woodruff Park.
This is a ministry of presence and our being there matters. In simple fellowship, we bring ourselves as gifts to others and in turn are blessed.
“I am glad that Holy Trinity as a church family calls each of us to go out into our community whether to worship and share with women and children in a shelter, a foreign mission, or to the streets with the impoverished and home-less. Each of us is a child of God and beloved by God; we need to listen to one another, hold hands caring for one another, and break bread together sharing in the love of Christ. I am blessed in the sharing.”
