Jason's Story

1) How does your faith help when things are hard?
Knowing that there is something infinitely more grand than whatever might be challenging in life puts those challenges into perspective. We are often wrapped up tightly in our struggles, but taking a moment and reflecting, knowing that there are people that care about you and what is going on in your life helps loosen that feeling of being trapped.
2) What keeps you coming back to HTP?
A sense of community where I feel like I have a place to contribute. This is the end of my first time of serving on a vestry and it has been a terrific experience being engaged with the parish in this role. The people I have been able to get to know better through the time we've spent together have been invaluable in my life. HTP has become in ways a second home to care for, and that has been tremendously rewarding.
3) What are you excited about at HTP?
The bequest to HTP is going to present a new set of challenges to the parish but those challenges are going to reveal equally a new set of opportunities. As we spend the next year discerning how we can use that bequest to do tremendous good in the community is something to be excited about. Even now having a hypothetical "if we could dream anything" conversation about the gift, grand visions are surfacing that will require time and attention to nurture into life. This is something that will enable HTP to leave a positive mark on the world for years to come.
