  • Intergenerational activities when all classes of all ages join to celebrate and learn together
  • Other ministries emerge as interests and needs are made known; such as the Honduras Mission Trip
  • TGIS – Thank God it’s Sunday. A series of short programs for youth in grades 6-12, generally held one Sunday per month from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Includes games, guest speakers, and group discussions.
  • Youth Fundraisers – These activities support the J2A Urban Adventure and Pilgrimage; included are the annual yard sale, car washes, bake sales, various themed dinners, the annual Chili Cook-Off, and more.

Children’s Activities

  • Baptism Workshops: Offered prior to scheduled dates for Baptism. We explore the Baptismal Covenant and rehearse the ceremony. For baptismal candidates, parents and godparents. These are generally held the Saturday morning before the baptism date.
  • Eucharistic Workshops: These are offered once each year for pre-kindergarten or elementary school children and their families. We bake and break bread together, exploring the meaning of the bread and wine and what it means to share this meal as a family.

Children & Youth Committees

The Children’s Committee

The Committee develops, supports, and evaluates ministries from birth through 4th grade. This committee meets monthly and is chaired by a lay person who works closely with the Rector, Vestry Representative, and Minister to Children and Youth.

The Youth Committee

The Holy Trinity Youth Committee is made up of parents, the youth Christian Formation vestry representative, and the minister to children and youth. They plan and implement all youth fundraising projects, work with major events such as the J2A pilgrimage and other out-of-town trips, advise the HTP Youth Council, and periodically review and evaluate class curricula. The Youth Committee’s responsibilities include the fifth grade acolyte class and all three Journey to Adulthood classes-Rite-13, J2A, and YAC. Meetings are generally held on the second Sunday of each month.

The Youth Council

The Holy Trinity Youth Council consists of parish youth who are elected from the three Journey to Adulthood classes and from the acolyte program. They meet once per month to plan youth events inside and outside the church, assist with fundraising, and develop outreach projects. The HTP Youth Council members actively support the Millennium Development Goals, and as part of this vital campaign, they recently designated funding to benefit Heifer International and Food for the Poor.
